Back home it wouldn't have been possible, but I do appreciate it. Also feeding the birds, even if some of them are surveillance drones... I hadn't heard birdsong in a very long time.

work mostly. spend time with people. try not to go mad.

That is the most general set of answers possible. Have you gotten into any hobbies? Most people I know here have leaned towards something creative in their spare time.

no. i just work mostly. it gives me something to do.

i watch things on the tv. i text people. i visit people.

Tv here is really terrible. I wish I could show you some movies from our home.

What do you do when you're visiting people?

depends who it is. if it's scott, i might make him a sandwich or something. talk.

No wonder you're bored and have no enthusiasm for food.

Do you ever spar? Dance? Play music? Paint? Actually cook? Help someone build elaborate an obstacle course for their pet? There are plenty of things to do with someone that will have you more engaged than just sitting there talking.

i don't need to spar. my mind is my weapon.

i don't mind talking. i don't like being lied to or kept in the dark when it comes to talking though. i watch the sunset sometimes.

Sometimes it's fun. Much more fun than when you need to. I agree with you on all the other points, though. Especially sunsets.

Are you just ruling things out because they're not productive, or because you're really not interested? I'm sure Wade would love it if you wanted to try painting with him.

i want normal but i don't. i don't want to fall into feeling like being here like this is ok. because that's what this place wants.

( he's torn because, on the one hand, he's dying and wants to experience what he can. but on the other, he should also be doing everything he can to get people out of here while he can. )

I can understand that. If Val hadn't been here I don't think anyone could have kept me in line. But now that I've drawn my own boundaries? I honestly don't think finding what happiness you can is the same as playing into their hand.
