The battle hadn't gone great, but once again they'd survived. And Kazu expects that when he opens his eyes, he'll be back in his gen:LOCK pod. There's no reason to suspect differently, after all... a battle ends, they return to transport or base, and download back to their bodies before hitting uptime. He's done it so much at this point it's become second nature, but this time he can tell something isn't right. He doesn't feel the chamber at his back or hear anything... and when he does open his eyes again he finds that he's in the Hub. Not even his personal space, just the void.

And the only person there is Val.

The fact that it's Val in front of him is all that keeps him from immediately trying to download again, and he steps forward with a deeply confused expression.

"What's going on?" Because Val doesn't look confused. He looks... Kazu can't place it the emotion in his eyes, actually. "We're at uptime, we need to go."

Val's head drops forward with a low noise, but he makes the deliberate choice and effort to lift it again, throwing it back to get his hair out of the way, so that Kazu can see his face. He breathes out, giving Kazu's arm a squeeze to get across that he's okay, too. It's— different, that much is very true, he is much more used to the sensation being accompanied by the slickness of lube, but it's not immediately uncomfortable like he might expect in the real world.

"If you are worried, I am sure it would be possible to manifest some lubricant, I am just unsure that it—" He exhales, again, fingers pressing into Kazu's side. "That it would behave as expected. This is okay."

Either way, he adds it to a mental list of upgrades to the Hub that would certainly be appreciated, if they are willing to risk asking Cammie for such obvious things.

Kazu hesitates, not drawing his hand back but stilling it, his brow furrowing slightly.

"I don't want it to be just 'okay.' We can do something else," he tells Val, and he means it. If Val wants to shift again, or try something else entirely, Kazu doesn't care.

It's definitely something that could be patched, but asking Cammie would be the most embarrassing thing in existence. Either way, they can talk about it later... right now he just wants to do something that's good for them both.

Val's face softens and he leans down to give him another kiss, for that, which is actually what inspires his next thought. Their kisses all feel real enough, after all, as did that natural slickness as Valentina, and while in the real world they would need more...

Well, saliva may be enough, here. The way fluids work not being 1:1 may actually go in their favour this time.

"There is something we can try, first. If it does not help, then we can do something different, perhaps. Let me suck your fingers, then try again?"

The kiss is welcome, and smoothes out that little concerned furrow in Kazu's brow. He does withdraw his hand, then, settling both on Val's waist and kissing back contentedly until the other man pulls back... with a suggestion.

"Huh." There's nothing to lose by trying it, Kazu figures. "Alright."

He starts to offer his other hand, for hygiene purposes, then remembers that the whole problem here is that they're in the Hub and it's fine to use his dominant hand again. His touch trails up Val's body in a slow caress until he reaches his lips and can trace the shape of them with his fingertips. Go ahead, Val.

Val shudders softly at the gentle caress; when it reaches its destination he presses a kiss to the tips of Kazu's fingers before parting his lips, taking the digits into his mouth and sucking. He could be quick, but he decides to make a bit of a display of it—slowly taking them to the final knuckle, letting his tongue drag along the skin, even bobbing back and forth a little. All the while making sure he's actually getting them good and wet with saliva, and never looking away from Kazu.

He releases them again only when he's satisfied it will hopefully suffice, then kisses the tips of the fingers again before licking his lips and flashing Kazu a smirk.

"There. Let us see if this works better."

Oh. Oh no. That's hot as hell, and Val obviously knows it. Kazu maintains the eye contact, but knows that if they were in their real bodies he'd be flushed bright red. It takes him a moment after Val releases his fingers to snap out of his stupor.

"R-right."

They were doing something else. He swallows hard and drops his hand back between Val's legs to try again, still going slow and gentle.

Val looks very, very pleased with himself at the look on Kazu's face and how long it takes him to recover. That's exactly the kind of reaction he was aiming for, Kazu truly never disappoints.

He hums, low and pleased, as Kazu's hand returns to try again and this time it's better. Different, still, but that much is to be expected. His head drops forward again, and he grips tight where his hands rest, and it's from the opposite of discomfort. When he makes himself lift his head so that he can look at Kazu, so that the other man can see his expressions once again, he nods.

"Better. Much better. I will, ah— I will tell you if that changes."

Kazu worries for a moment when Val's head drops and his grip tightens, but when it lifts again he can tell Val's enjoying it this time. He smiles, gaining confidence, and there's a sparkle of humor in his eyes when he speaks again.

"I suppose you'll just have to suck everything that goes in there," he suggests in a low rumble, his slicked fingers pressing in deeper and curling gently just as he would with a woman.

Val laughs, though it's quickly distorted by a different kind of noise, as Kazu's fingers press deeper, unrestrained and making sure Kazu knows he's still enjoying it. He runs the hand rested on Kazu's arm up to his shoulder to brace there, the other still settled at his ribs, finger pressing into the muscle.

"Oh, really?" he says with a tilted head, a glint in his eye and a totally faux ignorance in his voice. "Hmm. I suppose I will."

The faux ignorance gets a chuckle, but Kazu's clearly very pleased by the reactions he's getting this time. He turns his head to kiss where Val's hand is gripping his shoulder and keeps his fingers moving -- it seems to be getting easier, Val's body adjusting to the intrusion just like he would in the material world.

"Tell me when you're ready."

For now he's pretty happy with this, the way Val shifts and the sounds he's making.

Val nods, smiling warmly at the kiss. He's completely at ease, there straddling Kazu, and utterly unashamed to make noise or to move against Kazu's fingers. He settles into a comfortable rhythm for a while, like that—he's in no rush, enjoying himself and getting to experience this with Kazu, but that isn't to say he's not eager enough to move on, either.

Every second of that time, he makes sure that Kazu is getting a damned good view—not that it takes much effort, not that he imagines Kazu wouldn't be pleased with his vantage point no matter what, but he is still a show-off and none of it has to be exaggerated or inauthentic to be a good show. The way he moves, the noises he makes, the way he meets Kazu's eye, the way his breathing changes...

Eventually, though, he does give Kazu's shoulder a squeeze and nods, "Mm. I'm ready."

Kazu is absolutely enjoying the show, watching with an appreciative smile and lidded eyes. His free hand rests on Val's waist so he can feel the movement with both hands, the way Val's muscles tense and relax under his touch. If he were a little more confident with his multitasking skills he'd stroke Val while fingering him, but they might have to save that for next time if he's ready now. Gently, Kazu withdraws his fingers and trails them forward teasingly as he sits up.

"You're also gorgeous," he compliments, because even though Val obviously knows already it's nice to hear, before tugging him down for another kiss.

Val hums appreciatively at the compliment rather than trying to speak before he's being tugged down and his lips are otherwise occupied, exhaling contently as they kiss. He is absolutely gorgeous and he knows it, but Kazu's right, it is nice to hear it said. It is nice to hear it from Kazu.

He lets the kiss linger for a long, long moment, simply basking in it, before parting and hovering over Kazu close enough that he could kiss him again with the slightest shift.

"And you, darling, are very handsome," because he's not the only one who deserves compliments around here. "Now, you were saying about having to suck anything going inside me, yes?"

He knew exactly what he was doing when he made the initial suggestion, make no mistake. Besides, if they want to move on promptly it may even be a chance to tease Kazu just a little by virtue of not finishing the job that way.

"Mm... I did say that," he agrees, brushing their noses together affectionately. "It seems necessary, don't you think?"

Which is to say yes, he'd very much like a blowjob. Disguising it as practicality is more for the sake of humor than anything else. He's not rushing to get there, though, arms closing around Val and caressing his back for a moment before he lies down again, pulling the other man with him.

He lets Kazu pull him down, stealing another quick kiss as he does, then trails kisses from the corner of his lips, down along his jaw. Speaks his answer against the skin, both the smirk on his lips and the way they move pressed against it.

"Oh, yes. Very necessary." It's silly and humorous and Val loves that, he loves their banter in every context. He loves how easy this all is, with Kazu.

He slips his hand back up into Kazu's hair and kisses him again, less quick this time, for a time just enjoying being held and giving Kazu more of the affection he should have been able to give him before now.

When he finally pulls back, he starts a fresh trail of kisses that does not stop at his jaw.

The hand in his hair draws a soft pleased sound from Kazu before he's being kissed again, holding Val close and letting it drag on. He loves the intimacy of it most of all, which is kind of a new experience for him. But Val does eventually pull away, sliding down and out of Kazu's arms. He threads his fingers into Val's hair and just lets his hand rest there lightly, squirming and gasping as Val seems to find every sensitive spot on his torso on his way down.

He trails those kisses down, down, pleased with every squirm and gasp, until he's pressing a kiss to Kazu's hip, hand wrapping around the base of him at the same time. The last time Val was down between Kazu's legs it was rather different anatomy he was working with, and he hums in amusement to himself at the thought.

Then he's looking up at Kazu to meet his eye again as he's drawing his tongue up the length of him, ending in a flick over the tip before he takes him into his mouth. Oh, he has absolutely every intention of making just as much of a show of this as the fingers, as everything else he does. Kazu's reactions have as of yet failed to delight him every time, and besides, he is worth every bit of effort Val could give.

Kazu barely manages to keep still when Val gets a grip on him, let alone takes him into his mouth. He has to bite his lip and clutch the sheets with his other hand not to thrust or pull at his hair, as both those things would be very rude... but Val may well be trying to kill him again with this. They lock eyes and Kazu maintains the gaze as Val sinks lower, taking him in. There's a certain mischief in that look he's getting, though. He might be in for some teasing after all.

It's not until Val starts to suck that Kazu's head falls back, a low moan escaping him. Turns out he's just as talented at this as the other, not that Kazu's surprised.

Val gives a low, amused hum when Kazu’s head falls back and the eye contact breaks, though he never stops looking up for long so he can be sure to catch his eye as often as possible, so he can watch the way he reacts. He knows exactly what he’s doing, in more ways than one, and he falls into a rhythm easily, paying close attention to the way Kazu moves and moans as he sucks and bobs his head, adjusts the pressure and speed in response, the way he uses his tongue.

It is still every bit a show, even the times when Kazu is not looking. Val is Val.

The mischievous glint remains in his eye, even as he doesn’t slip right into teasing. He wants to work Kazu up, first; he wants to make him feel good, first—but the teasing will come, when it’s almost time to stop. They didn’t try, before, to see how much the hub allows them to escape more physical limitations, and he doesn’t want to risk it this time, because he very much wants to ride Kazu. He’ll have time to make it up to him later.

They're not mindsharing, which makes it all the more impressive how Val is adjusting to exactly what he likes most. Kazu does his best to watch and take in the show, heat flaring in him every time their eyes meet, but eventually he has to just lie back trustingly and drop his other hand to the sheets too. Val doesn't need the guidance, clearly.

If working him up was the goal, Val's achieved that and then some. Which means he should probably ease up soon if he doesn't want this to be over, though Kazu finds himself wondering about physical stamina too... maybe they can experiment another time.

"Val..?"

No guidance needed at all, and the show doesn't stop for a single second until Kazu speaks up. Val raises a brow, as if he can't tell exactly why Kazu is saying his name right now, that glint in his eye again. He hums and withdraws, presses a kiss to the tip and asks, oh so fake innocently, "Yes?"

That hand still wrapped around him idly strokes, and Val does not move far enough for the way his lips move or his breath not to be felt against the skin.
